The Tree of Lifeby *mtomsky

Artisan Crafts / Woodworking

Laser cut, stained, plywood frame and backing with etched brass centre piece, designed, cut and assembled by myself.

This was a long running commission for [link] to go in his amazing new house. It took much longer than anticipated but it was important to get it right.

Special thanks to 4D Modelshop ( [link] ) for letting me use their laser cutter and etching equipment.

Though it was with card board, and far less complex; having attempted a project similar to this I've some idea of how difficult such an undertaking can be.
With that in mind I must give this project full credit in all categories. The scope of this vision brought into reality, and the detail of it's execution, are nothing short of miraculous. Your chose of material honors the topic of the story that you have told through your creation, and adds to the whimsical appeal of this piece.
Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us. I certainly enjoyed your work.

I do not think, that I have ever given a five star critique on this site. However, this piece changes everything.

For starters, the amount of detail is mind blowing. That alone is...

My words can do your piece no justice. It is just simply impossible to put into words how I feel about this piece. I would use words such as phenomenal, extraordinary, even terrific.

But those words cannot do this piece any justice neither. It is a beautiful work of art that reminds me that I have much improvement to make in my own art.

This piece, to me, is untouchable.

Words cannot describe how AMAZING I think this is. This is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my browsing of this site. Hell, I would even say it's one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever seen. I love it.
