I'm currently working on a picture book featuring a younger version of the boy and the duck.

This was originally the illustration for first page but the story has drastically changed, so now I'm happy to upload it

I think it works very well. There is a lot of interest in the picture and it's drawn nicely. The colors are vibrant but not overwhelming. The only couple of things that bug me a little is the blue on the carpet, I think because it competes with the map, and the campfire thought bubble's placement. I think the campfire bubble might be better placed a bit to the side so it no longer tucks behind the kid. It's current placement, overlapped by the lamp and the kid is throwing this area off for me. These are minor things and I thin the picture is great!
